# Settings Settings is where you tune Undra to fit you: how it looks, how it sounds, your keyboard shortcuts, workspace upkeep, and the AI master switch. Open it from the **gear icon** in the activity bar on the left, then pick a section from the sidebar. Here is what each section covers. ## General The everyday preferences: your display name, the interface language, whether the status bar shows, and editor toggles like line numbers, indent guides, and the note outline. It is also where **spell check** lives, including a custom dictionary you can add words to. ## Appearance Make Undra look the way you want. Pick a **theme** from the gallery, or build your own and save it as a profile you can export and share. Set your **fonts**, override individual **colours**, choose a Markdown style pack, and, if you want full control, drop in your own **custom CSS**. ## Display Comfort settings for your screen. **Night Light** (warm mode) warms the colours to cut blue light, with sliders for temperature and intensity and a one-hour pause when you need true colour for a moment. You also choose **12-hour or 24-hour** time here. ## Sounds Undra can play small sound effects for things like saving or completing a task. This section has a master on/off and volume, then per-event control: pick a preset for each event, set its volume, or **upload your own sound file** (up to 25 MB). ## Keyboard shortcuts Search every command and see its shortcut, then **rebind** any of them by pressing the new combination. Undra flags conflicts and shows you when one binding is shadowing another, and you can reset a single binding or all of them. Power users can edit the `keybindings.json` file directly. ## Workspace Tools for keeping your workspace tidy: - **Storage** shows where your space is going (canvases, media, and the rest). - **Workspace Repair** scans for Markdown notes with missing or broken Undra frontmatter and fixes them, so files you brought in from elsewhere adopt cleanly. - **Media Maintenance** finds duplicate and unreferenced media files. It always previews the changes and asks before it removes anything. ## Extensions Browse the extensions you have, **enable or disable** them, and uninstall the ones you do not want. Developers can also point Undra at a local folder to work on an extension live. See [Building an extension](/docs/extensions/) for the authoring side. ## Updates Manage app updates: turn automatic updates on or off, choose your update channel, and check, download, and install a new version by hand. :::note Beta channel Undra is in beta, so updates currently come through the Beta channel. A Stable channel will carry releases once Undra leaves beta. ::: ## Advanced A pointer to the [CLI](/docs/reference/cli/) docs and a one-click copy of the quick start, for driving your workspace from the terminal. ## AI The master switch for Undra's AI system, plus the **Auto-apply safe file changes** toggle (when AI is on). Everything else about providers and models lives on the dedicated AI page, which this section links to. See [Setting up AI](/docs/getting-started/setting-up-ai/) for the full walkthrough. ## Where to go next - **[Setting up AI](/docs/getting-started/setting-up-ai/)**: connect a provider and pick a model. - **[Getting around](/docs/getting-started/getting-around/)**: the shortcuts those keybindings drive. - **[CLI](/docs/reference/cli/)**: the same workspace from the terminal.
