# Calendar The calendar lays your dated work out on a grid, so you can see what is coming and move things around by dragging. It pulls the tasks from across all your plans into one place, which is the view you want when "what is due this week" matters more than which plan a task lives in. ## What it shows The calendar shows **tasks from your plans that have a date**: a start date, a due date, or both. A task with a date range stretches across the days it spans. Tasks without a date do not clutter the grid; they wait in a side panel until you schedule them. It is a view of your plan tasks, not a place that holds its own events. Notes and canvases do not appear here unless they are tasks in a plan. ## Open it Click the **Calendar** icon in the activity bar on the left. It is one of the main app views, alongside Home. ## Two ways to look at it - **Timeline** scrolls continuously through the weeks, so you can keep moving forward or back without jumping between pages. - **Month** shows one month at a time in a familiar grid, with buttons to step to the previous month, the next month, or back to today. ## Work the grid - **Reschedule by dragging.** Drag a task to a new day and its dates move with it. Drag the left or right edge to make it shorter or longer. - **Schedule the unscheduled.** The **Unscheduled** panel on the left holds dated-less tasks, grouped by plan. Drag one onto a day to give it a date, or drop a task back onto the panel to clear its dates. - **Filter by plan.** Use the coloured plan chips to show only the plans you care about right now. - **Find and jump.** Search tasks by title, type a `YYYY-MM-DD` date and hit **Go** to jump there, or press **Today** to come back to now. :::note The plan calendar is different Each plan also has its own calendar view inside the plan editor, which shows only that plan's tasks. This app-level Calendar is the cross-plan view: everything dated, in one place. ::: ## Good to know - The grid works in whole days; a task's time of day is not drawn on it. - Weeks start on Monday. ## Where to go next - **[Plans](/docs/workspace/plans/)**: where the tasks and their due dates come from. - **[Dashboards](/docs/workspace/dashboards/)**: build a "due this week" view that links straight back to the work.
